Peanut Butter Cookies

Ever since I started baking, my family has always been requesting me to bake batches of cookies for them to snack on anytime. Cookies are actually great because you can bake them as many as you like and store them in a container. So when you feel like munching on a little treat, you can just grab some quickly.

My family has been a fan of the natural peanut butter (the ones with the natural oils from the peanuts) to spread on our bread. Whenever my mom buys a branded peanut butter spread, it gets stored for a long time because nobody really eats it. We all prefer the natural kind. So I decided to make use of it and baked these peanut butter cookies.

I adapted this recipe from Food Wishes. I hope you give this one a try, it's really good!

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (or 1/4 tsp fine table salt)
  • 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • *Bake at 375 degrees F. for 10 minutes
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Combine butter, sugars, egg, and peanut butter in a bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients - flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stop if you no longer see streaks of flour. Do not overmix.
  5. Form into cookie balls and make crisscross patterns with a fork (optional).
  6. Bake for 10 minutes or until lightly golden brown on the edges of the cookies. Enjoy!
